Summertime's story begins in 1987. Founder, Brett Huffman was serving
aboard a U.S. Navy submarine (see picture
). It was a grueling duty. Most of the
time, the vessel sailed in the cold North Atlantic. Everything was always iced over.
The only thing that was sure to work was the air conditioner.
During those many cold days and nights he planned the ideal software company. It would
be customer-centric with every employee caring more about their
customer's satisfaction than the bottom line. It would be a company that used
proven technology to help their customers compete and grow. It would serve a
community that embraced technology. Most of all, it would be in a warm place!
Summertime finally became a reality in 1999 in the ideal location, Orange County, CA.
